Hard Mount
A hard mount commercial washing machine does not have springs or shock absorbers inside of them.
The washing machine must be bolted and anchored to a concrete pedestal during installation to manage the movement of the drum.
A hard mount washer can only be installed on a first floor of a building.
Soft Mount
A soft mount commercial washing machine has internal springs and shock absorbers just like a home washer.
A soft mount washer can be easily installed without the need of a concrete pedestal and anchor bolts. They can be dropped in place without any location restrictions.
A soft mount washing machine is capable of spinning the drum very fast (compared a hard mount washer) to extract more water from the laundry reducing the overall wash / dry time of a load.
